Commercially frozen prawns insure the product has a longer shelf life and quick freezing locks in the quality and the flavour of the product. Frozen prawns are not subject to seasonal variations and the product is of a consistent high standard.
Frozen prawns should be kept in the freezer, wrapped in plastic to prevent freezer burn.
To retain texture, flavour and nutrients, controlled thawing in a refrigerator is best. To thaw seafood quickly, run cold water over it. |
